Where does a poem end and a painting begin?

Many of the artists in The Aldrich Decennial: I am what is around me draw straight from poetry, fiction and storytelling. In this closing session of "Getting" Contemporary Art, you will pair close looking with selected readings to explore the conversation between literature and visual art, and how artists translate language into images, ideas and experience. It is a mini art history class built for curious people, not experts.

The series is led by Kristen Erickson, a Ridgefield resident who teaches art history at Greenwich Academy and runs its Luchsinger Gallery, after eight years of curatorial work at the Ashmolean Museum, the Smith College Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
