The goose will not stay caught, and neither will the detectives.
Two Victorian seamstresses with theatrical ambitions are waiting outside 221b Baker Street, hoping to catch sight of the famous Mr. Sherlock Holmes and the intrepid Dr. Watson. Through a series of surprising events the pair find themselves assuming the hats, and then the duties, of the two absent detectives, and set off after a thief, a blue carbuncle and a continually escaping Christmas goose.
The piece draws on the Holmes mysteries and folds in snippets from a feast of holiday tales and songs. Underneath the chase it is a story about two friends taking a leap into the unknown and finding unforeseen talents and unexpected adventure while solving the mystery of a most inexhaustible goose. It features the Shakespearean actress Poornima Kirby alongside Lakshmi Bose, a performer, artist and puppeteer, and it runs on hilarity with a surprising amount of heart.
