AI Basic Training: Unlock the Power of Everyday AI

If you have ever opened an AI tool, stared at the blank box and quietly closed the tab, this is the class that fixes that.

The session is built for two kinds of people: those who want to start using AI tools and have no idea where to begin, and those who have already experimented but want to be sure they are doing it safely and effectively. Seventy five minutes, interactive, beginner friendly and firmly practical rather than theoretical.

The ground covered is an introduction to general AI concepts, an introduction to the large language models people actually encounter, including Gemini, Claude and ChatGPT, and best practice for prompting and working with these tools. Live prompting exercises run during the class so that everyone leaves having actually done it rather than just watched.

Bring a laptop. The library strongly encourages it, because the exercises are hands on and you will get much more out of the session working on your own machine.

Good to know. Registration is required and closes at 11:00am, as the class begins.

Where to go. The combined Main and Dayton Program Rooms.

Check before you go. Ridgefield Library does not publish a price for this program. Confirm the cost and registration details on the venue's event page before you plan around it.
