An Evening of One Acts 2027

Four short plays, three weekends, and none of them long enough to outstay their welcome.

The Theater Barn's annual Evening of One Acts returns for 2027 with a run from 5 to 27 March. The bill announced so far:

This Year's Princess Tea Party by Mathew Green, a lighthearted drama in which Brad and Gabby talk through what the night before a very special occasion means for their son.

A New One by David Carkeet, a comedy chasing the perennial question of where figurative expressions come from, and arriving at a fairly fantastical answer.

The Diary of Maria by Dave Huber, a drama about a seventeen-year-old high school senior left waiting outside her school late at night when her father never arrives, and what moral courage and empathy look like from there.

Tickets are not on sale yet. The Barn says they are coming soon, and performance times have not been published for this production either. Its other main stage runs play Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm with Sunday matinees at 5 pm, so the 8 pm shown here is provisional until the Barn confirms it. Check the Barn's page before building an evening around a particular date.

What the Barn is like. Main stage productions are cabaret style. Doors open an hour before curtain, audiences bring their own food and drink, and snacks and drinks are sold in the lobby.

They are still looking for directors. The Barn has an open call out for this one, aimed at anyone who likes working with actors and fancies telling a complete story in a short format, first-time directors included.
