Arc Stages Queer Play Reading Circle, November 22
LGBTQ+
Saturday, November 22, 2025

Join us Saturday, November 22nd at 11am for our Cold Reads & Coffee Queer Play Reading Circle! We'll be reading Crooked by Catherine Trieschmann.
About the play:
Fourteen-year-old Laney arrives in Oxford, Mississippi with a twisted back, a mother in crisis and a burning desire to be a writer. When she befriends Maribel Purdy, a fervent believer in the power of Jesus Christ to save her from the humiliations of high school, Laney embarks on a hilarious spiritual and sexual journey that challenges her mother's secular worldview and threatens to tear their fragile relationship apart.
Feel free to read a role or simply listen. Scripts and snacks will be provided. Allies are welcome and encouraged to join!
This event is free of charge and for ages 18+. Contact info@arcstages.org if you have any questions.
Next up: We’ll be reading Dot by Colman Domingo on Saturday, December 13th at 11am. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please note: Roles will not be precast. This is a casual gathering and we will distribute reading assignments, scene by scene, in the moment.
Please check with the organizer if the event time, date or offer has changed.** LTO
