Art Exhibit: Olga Fermin

Colour first, everything else after. Olga Fermin's work is built on bold colour and dynamic composition, drawing on her cultural heritage and the landscapes of her homeland in the Dominican Republic, and it is unapologetically joyful.

She has been making art since she was young, using it to express emotion and share a particular way of seeing, and the pieces in this show celebrate life and the beauty of ordinary moments. Each one is meticulously crafted with a stated mission: to bring a little joy into homes and hearts. It is a good exhibit to wander into on the way to somewhere else, and a better one to make a trip for.

Meet the artist. There is an artist's reception on Saturday, September 19 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The exhibit hangs in the Library Gallery and is free to visit during opening hours.
