Connecticut has been home to some of the titans of American art, and still somehow gets treated as the quiet bit between New York and Boston. Cybele Maylone, Executive Director of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, spends an hour on why that is and why it is wrong.

The talk is timed to The Aldrich's current exhibition, The Aldrich Decennial: I am what is around me, and ranges across the rich history of art making in the state and the vibrancy of what is being made here today. Maylone has led The Aldrich since 2018, and before that spent five years as Executive Director of UrbanGlass in Brooklyn, where she oversaw the organisation's expansion and reopening.
