Avenue Q (Fri & Sat Evenings)

It looks like Sesame Street. It is very much not Sesame Street.

Avenue Q follows Princeton, fresh out of college and priced all the way out to the far end of the alphabet, as he and his new neighbors fail to find jobs, dates or any discernible purpose in life. Part flesh and part felt, it won three Tony Awards by being considerably funnier and considerably ruder than its puppets let on, and the songs stay with you rather longer than you might want them to.

Make a night of it. An eight o'clock curtain leaves plenty of room for dinner in Ridgefield first, and this is a show that rewards being in a good mood already.

Good to know. Rated R and recommended for ages 16 and up. The theatre's own advice is to leave the little ones at home, and they are not being coy about it.
