Ballet Hispánico's BH2

This is not a show you sit through in silence. BH2, the second company of Ballet Hispanico New York, takes audiences on a guided journey through Latino dance and culture, performing excerpts from the Ballet Hispanico repertoire with narration from the company's artistic leadership. Music, choreography, history, and cultural context all get unpacked as you go, with introductions to Latino icons like Celia Cruz and Tito Puente along the way. There is a live dance session and a Q&A with the teaching artists and educators, so the audience ends up on its feet.

The company behind it is the real thing. Ballet Hispanico New York is the nation's leading American Latino dance company and the largest cultural institution of its kind in the United States. Across more than five decades it has commissioned over 100 original works, performed on the world's most prestigious stages, and been recognized as one of America's Cultural Treasures by the Ford Foundation.
