Take a mountain, a sky and a field, and push them until they stop being a view and start being a painting.
Madyn Gwynne leads this acrylic class at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists on Thursday mornings from 9:30am to 12:30pm, working on the expressive side of landscape painting. Students transform familiar scenery into shape and color rather than rendering it faithfully.
Who it suits. All levels are welcome, whether you are new to abstract work, want to experiment, or already paint this way and want the time and the company.
The dates. October 29, November 5, November 12, November 19 and December 3, five sessions. There is no class on November 26, Thanksgiving Day.
Cost. $225 for Guild members, $275 for non-members. A materials list is supplied on registration for anyone new to acrylics.
