Bugs on a Log at Nod Hill Brewery

Six multi-instrumentalists, and audiences who end up dancing whether they planned to or not.

Bugs on a Log is an emergent stringband that cultivates warmth and joy wherever it goes. Between them the members carry expertise spanning classical, old-time and bluegrass, and the New England based band marries that spread of music with real care. The result is an uncommon blend of precision, vitality and innovation, and audiences tend to describe the shows as moving and mirthful, often stirred to dancing, singing and clapping.

The lineup is Lana Auerbach on fiddle and banjo, Austin Scelzo on fiddle, mandolin and guitar, Jeff Smith on guitar, banjo and mandolin, Malcolm Callagy on cello and fiddle, Jack Corcoran on bass and Oriana Mack on fiddle. Every one of them is a multi-hyphenate talent and a vocalist in their own right.

Good to know. The show is free and it is indoors in the Backspace. No tickets, no reservations, no RSVP, and seating is first come, first served.
