Canasta

Two and a half hours of cards on a Wednesday afternoon, and somebody will teach you.

The library's Canasta session is the place to meet other card players, pick up strategy you would not work out alone, and play something competitive without it getting serious. The library has added instruction for beginners, taught by the regulars, so a curious first-timer and a player of forty years both have somewhere to sit.

Beginners. No need to read up first. The instruction runs alongside the play and the people teaching it are the ones you will be playing with afterwards.

Good to know. Free, in the Schaffner Room, running through to the end of December.

Parking. The library has outgrown its parking at busy times, so allow a few extra minutes.
