Application season is coming, and the goal is to get it all done before the deadlines and still have a life.
This session is a practical roadmap for building a compelling application without drowning in it. It covers essays, supplementals and interviews and what to do when, how to make the most of your summer and what to complete before senior year, and how to ask for recommendations, including who to ask and when. It also walks through the college application website and the admissions cycles, early action, early decision, regular and rolling, and finishes on managing your own stress through the process.
Priyanka Shingala of Let's Talk College, LLC leads the session and works with attendees on identifying their priorities and organizing them effectively.
Part of a bigger day. This is one of three sessions in an all day college prep event at the library. The others cover the SAT against the ACT, and finding scholarships. Registration is separate for each session.
Who it is for. Highly recommended for eleventh graders and their parents, though all ages are welcome.
Good to know. Pre-registration is required and closes at 12:00pm on the day.
Where to go. The Craig B. Tate Conference Room.
Check before you go. New Canaan Library does not publish a price for this program. Confirm the cost and registration details on the venue's event page before you plan around it.
