Contemporary Connections

Art you can move to. This is a sensory-friendly, 90-minute program at The Aldrich designed specifically for individuals with Parkinson's disease and their care partners, and it is built to be done standing up. Taking its cue from the current exhibition, The Aldrich Decennial: I am what is around me, the session weaves gallery exploration together with music, poetry, and large-motor movement to encourage physical expression rather than quiet observation.

After the tour, everyone heads into the studio to make their own artwork, inspired by a large abstract floral painting hanging in the exhibition. All materials are provided, and seating and physical accommodations are available at every point along the way, so you can take it at whatever pace the day allows.

Good to know. Admission is free for Aldrich Members and $30 per person for general admission, and that price covers the participant plus one care partner at no extra charge.
