Decades of New York Times recipes come down to one question, and Melissa Clark has built a career on answering it: what are you making for dinner?
New Canaan Library and Elm Street Books host Clark for the launch of The Big Book of Dinner: Recipes and Rules (And How to Break Them), with Anna Francese Gass joining her in conversation. Clark is a New York Times food writer, a multiple James Beard and IACP Award winner and a bestselling author, and through her long-running column A Good Appetite and books including Dinner in One: Changing the Game and Dinner in French she has shaped how an enormous number of people cook on an ordinary Tuesday. The new book is her guide to cooking more or less anything, with 175 any-night recipes, 150 tested variations and the reasoning behind them.
Good to know. An advance ticket is required and admits one person, and the price includes a copy of the book. Tickets come from Elm Street Books through the link on the library's event page. There is no physical ticket, so the door works from a list. Books can be collected at the event on the day.
