Solve the December problem now: what to hand people the moment they walk in the door.
Julia Deane of Culinary Works returns to the library to demonstrate some of her favorite holiday appetizers. Guests taste the results and leave with the recipes, all chosen to be easy to recreate at home rather than the sort of thing that needs a brigade and three days.
Deane is a home chef, a cooking instructor, and by her own description a woman who juggles it all and takes on what life brings with enthusiasm. Her professional training includes post undergraduate studies under a certified master chef and recreational cooking schools in Italy, Chicago, New Orleans and New York City. She founded her own culinary school, Culinary Works, in 2002 and runs it still.
Good to know. Registration is required, and for this one it opens on November 3 at 9:00am rather than closing on the day, so set a reminder.
Where to go. The Jim and Dede Bartlett Auditorium and Kend Kitchen.
Check before you go. New Canaan Library does not publish a price for this program. Confirm the cost and registration details on the venue's event page before you plan around it.
