Dead Meat: Grateful Dead Tribute

Lifelong Dead heads and total newcomers tend to end up in the same place by the second set.

Dead Meat have built their following on three things: moving harmonies, long high-energy blocks of music, and a willingness to push into the far corners of the Grateful Dead's enormous catalog instead of cycling the same dozen songs. The renditions are their own rather than note-for-note copies, which is what makes the band worth the trip whether you have been following this music for forty years or you are hearing most of it for the first time.

Good to know. $17 advance, $22 on the day, plus online fees. 21 and over. Doors at 7, music at 8.

Make a night of it. Full bar and kitchen on site, open from doors, serving craft cocktails and real food. The kitchen stays open until the Kitchen Open light goes off.

Where to go. Park City Music Hall, 2926 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport. Primarily a standing room, with limited seating first come, first served. You can avoid the online fees by buying in person or by phone during box office hours, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 5pm.
