Edmond Town Hall's Summer Drive-In takes over the rear parking lot, with a huge screen mounted on the gymnasium wall. The feature is The Goonies, the 1985 adventure comedy directed by Richard Donner from a Chris Columbus screenplay and a Steven Spielberg story, starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton and Ke Huy Quan. A group of kids in the Goon Docks neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon set out to save their homes from foreclosure, turn up an old treasure map, and go looking for the lost fortune of a legendary 17th-century pirate with a family of criminals close behind. Rated PG, 1 hour 54 minutes.

How it works. Admission is $20 per carload. The lot opens an hour and a half before the movie, which starts just after dusk. The exact time shifts week to week, so check the venue's social media before you head over. Audio comes through your car or a portable radio on a station handed to you at arrival.

Make a night of it. Tailgating is welcome, so bring the chairs, the cooler and the blankets.

Good to know. If weather cancels the show you get a drive-in credit toward a future movie or event, and cancellations are posted by 6 pm.
