Electric Avenue: The 80s MTV Experience

Warner Music thought they were listening to the original records. They were not.

Electric Avenue recreate 1980s new wave and radio pop down to the last nuance, digging into a personal stash of vintage synthesizers and rare signal processors to get there. In 2019 Warner Music issued a cease-and-desist over what it assumed were original artist recordings on the band's social channels. After hearing the complete live recording, Warner apologised.

What started as a one-off party gig has run for over a decade and more than 1,100 concerts across the US and abroad. The show is pitched at the feeling of coming home from school and putting a record on: first dates, first cars, prom nights and meeting friends at the mall.

They have supported Pat Benatar, been joined on stage by members of Toto, Player, Talk Talk and Little River Band, and were flown to Asbury Park to soundtrack the red carpet launch of Blinded By The Light. Between them the musicians have had a hand in selling over 15 million albums.

Where to go. The Palace Theatre sits on Atlantic Street in downtown Stamford, an easy run from anywhere in lower Fairfield County, with restaurants and parking within a short walk.
