Exhibition - 60 Objects for 60 Years

A museum that has spent sixty years interpreting other people's history turns the lens around on itself.

In honor of Keeler Tavern's 60th birthday, 60 Objects for 60 Years tells the institution's own story through archival documents, photographs, three-dimensional objects and the buildings themselves. Together they trace how the site, the stories, the programming and the audiences have grown, adapted and changed.

The exhibition also recognizes the people who made those six decades work, highlighting the volunteers, staff and community stakeholders behind the museum's preservation and education efforts.

Start in the Visitor Center, where some of the most fragile and rarely displayed archival records are on view. An exhibition brochure details every object and includes a map, because the rest of them are spread across the four-acre campus and finding them is part of the point.

Come back more than once. Objects rotate throughout the run, so a second visit is a different exhibition.

Good to know. Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Visitor Center and sitewide. Included in the price of site admission.
