A Conversation with Cookbook Author Caroline Schiff

A pastry chef who made her name on a baked alaska is coming to talk about dessert on a weeknight.

Caroline Schiff joins New Canaan Library for a conversation about her new cookbook Daily Dessert: Sweet Treats on Repeat, covering underrated baking ingredients, her own favorite desserts and the tips and tricks that make the difference. Schiff is an award-winning pastry chef and cookbook author based in Brooklyn with nearly two decades behind her in restaurants, bakeries and cafes, known widely by her Instagram name pastryschiff. She was most recently Executive Pastry Chef at Brooklyn's Gage and Tollner, where the baked alaska became something of a legend, and she is a Food and Wine Best New Chef 2022 and a James Beard Outstanding Pastry Chef finalist the same year. Daily Dessert is her second cookbook after The Sweet of Sourdough, and her first bricks-and-mortar place, Monday Diner, is next.

Make an afternoon of it. A book signing follows the conversation, with copies on sale from Elm Street Books.
