She is saying goodbye to the road, and she is doing it here with an orchestra. Judy Collins has spent six decades inspiring audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable songwriting, and a firm commitment to social activism. In the 1960s she carried both the idealism and the steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustice, and 55 albums later new listeners keep finding their way to her.
She is best known as an interpreter with impeccable instincts. Her reading of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now," from the landmark 1967 album Wildflowers, is in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Her dreamy, intimate version of "Send in the Clowns," written by Stephen Sondheim for A Little Night Music, won Song of the Year at the 1975 Grammy Awards. She has collected top-ten hits and gold and platinum albums along the way, and recently Rufus Wainwright, Shawn Colvin, Dolly Parton, Joan Baez, and Leonard Cohen honored her with the tribute album Born to the Breed.
The Sweet Judy Blue Eyes Farewell Tour launched on July 4, 2026 and runs through 2027, an expansive final run that follows a genuinely remarkable late chapter: six new albums since 2015, the artistic renaissance of Spellbound, her first record of all self-penned songs and a 2023 Grammy nominee for Best Folk Album, and her 2025 poetry collection Sometimes It's Heaven: Poems of Love, Loss and Redemption. With the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, this is the fullest version of that farewell you are going to get.
