Learn the Ukulele: Beginner Adult Workshop

Four strings, no expectations, and a real chance you leave having played something recognisable.

Musician Julie Stepanek leads this zero-pressure introduction to the ukulele at the Danbury Library — ideal whether you have never held an instrument or just want to shake the rust off the basics. Stepanek has been bringing music into libraries, senior centres and schools across New England since 2012, after years playing in the New York City rock scene.

Good to know. Free, ages 12 and up, and registration is required. Bring your own ukulele or borrow one of the library’s. No experience needed. Contact Katherine Mostacero at 203-797-4505 ext. 7713.

Where to go. The Farioly Program Room, Danbury Public Library, 170 Main Street.
