Lou Gramm: The Original Voice of Foreigner

Two notes in, you know exactly whose voice that is. Lou Gramm was the original lead singer of Foreigner, and he helped define what classic rock sounded like in the late 1970s and 1980s with a voice that has stayed instantly identifiable across generations. He is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame.

His vocals and songwriting drove a run of hits that never left the radio: "I Want To Know What Love Is," "Cold As Ice," "Hot Blooded," "Waiting For A Girl Like You," "Urgent," and "Juke Box Hero," part of a catalog that has sold more than 80 million records worldwide. On his own he landed the smash "Midnight Blue," which showed off the same blend of melodic muscle and emotional delivery in a smaller frame.

He is not just running the greatest hits, either. Gramm returns with Released, his third and final solo album, ten new original songs that keep the melodic rock sound he built a career on while writing one more chapter onto it.
