Peter Green is directing The Powerhouse Theatre's fall production of Our Town, and he is coming to the Museum's Lunch & Learn to talk about where the play came from. What sources and inspirations did Wilder draw on for a work that plenty of people call the great American classical play? What themes was he actually chasing? And what pushed him toward the stripped-back, minimal staging the play is now famous for?

Several members of the company will perform a short segment from the upcoming production, so you get the argument and the evidence in the same hour.

Bring lunch. Soup, sandwich, salad or a snack, whatever suits. The talk runs 12 to 1 pm.
