Lunch & Learn with Vanessa Wood on Artist Augusta Simon
Historical

She went looking through the family tree and found a painter hanging on the Museum's own walls.
Vanessa Wood comes to the Museum's Lunch & Learn to explore the life and work of her second cousin, artist Augusta Simon, a lifelong New Canaan resident. The Museum holds several of Simon's paintings, on permanent display in the Simon Dining Room, so the subject of the talk is a short walk from the talk itself.
Wood draws on extensive genealogical and historical research to tell the story of a talented relative whose artwork and legacy keep turning up in the town's cultural history. She recently published an article on Simon in Connecticut Genealogy News, and is looking forward to sharing what she uncovered about her own remarkable family connection.

See the paintings. Simon's work is on permanent display in the Simon Dining Room, so you can go and look at what she is talking about.
Getting a seat. Registration runs through Zeffy, linked from the Museum's event page. The Museum does not publish a price there, so check the cost when you register.
