Monthly Comedy Improv Jam

Turn up, play, and find out how funny you are among strangers.

The Ridgefield Theater Barn runs a drop in improv jam in its downstairs Black Box, open to experienced improvisers, curious beginners and anyone who simply misses getting to play. Rick Hodder leads, taking the room through exercises, theater games and a range of improv forms, short form and long form both. He trained through Upright Citizens Brigade, Gotham City Improv and Magnet Theater, has coached and directed the Barn's in house troupe The Role in the Hay Players, and is known for running a welcoming, energetic room where people build confidence and learn to think on their feet. All levels of experience are welcome. Bring a friend, or come on your own and leave with a few.

When it runs. The Barn's stated rule is the second Wednesday of each month unless otherwise noted, meeting at 7pm with doors at 6:30pm. Because a given month's date can move, check the Barn's improv jam page for the current one before you set out.

Where to go. Use the Barn's lower entrance to reach the Black Box.

Check before you go. The Barn does not publish a price for the jam, and it asks people to register in advance for each month's session. Confirm the cost and sign up on its page.
