Monthly Poetry Series: Featured Poet and Open Mic

Sign the list when you walk in, and somewhere in the next two hours the room is yours.

Cheryl Panosian, Danbury’s Poet Laureate, hosts this monthly evening in the Farioly Program Room: a featured reader first, then an open mic for whoever brought something. Past features give a sense of the range — among them Southbury’s inaugural Poet Laureate, a two-time national slam competitor who read for the U.S. team in Sweden, and Michael Garry, president of the Bethel chapter of the Connecticut Poetry Society. Come to read or come to listen; both count.

Good to know. Free, open to high school students and adults, and registration is required. Questions go to Anh at the library.

Make a night of it. The library sits on Main Street in downtown Danbury, an easy walk from dinner.
