Mothers Without Mothers Support Group
Wellness

Parenting without a mother of your own is a particular kind of alone, and this group exists because of how rarely anyone says so out loud.
The group is for mothers who are parenting without a mother, whether through death, estrangement, absence or a relationship too complicated to lean on. It mixes psycho-education with shared conversation, looking at how the perinatal period and parenting itself can reopen layers of grief and unresolved attachment. The intent is room to hold complicated grief and conflicting feelings at once, and to sit with other mothers who recognize the experience without needing it explained.
It is facilitated by Christine Mindicino, LCSW-R, a licensed clinical social worker who runs a group psychotherapy practice in New York and specializes in anxiety disorders, traumatic grief and maternal mental health. Questions can go to her directly at christine@cornerstonecounselinglcsw.com.
