There is a cat in India that jumps into water to catch its dinner. There is another one with a permanently annoyed face.
Lions and tigers are recognizable everywhere and thoroughly documented. Filmmaker and National Geographic Explorer Sandesh Kadur is on a mission to do something about the rest of them, because India holds an unmatched diversity of wild cats spread from the Himalaya down through arid plains and dense jungle. The talk introduces the tiny, grumpy faced Pallas's cat, the fishing cat that goes in after its prey, and the elusive clouded leopard, and makes the case for protecting them.
Kadur is a BAFTA Award winning filmmaker and a National Geographic Society Fellow, with documentaries aired on National Geographic, the BBC, Netflix, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. He is a Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers and sits on the board of the International Association of Wildlife Filmmakers. His work spans cloud forests and sea turtles in Mexico and rain forests and king cobras in India, including orphaned clouded leopards being returned to the Himalayan jungle.
About the series. National Geographic Live brings Explorers straight from the field onto the stage, so this is the person who shot the footage talking about shooting it.
