Twenty-five thousand imported Italian twinkle lights. One family. Nothing goes right.
Clark Griswold has dragged his family across the country twice already, so this time he keeps everyone home for the holidays, which turns out to be worse for the neighborhood than any road trip. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are back, Randy Quaid parks the RV out front, and Jeremiah S. Chechik directs a comedy that a lot of Ridgefield families watch every December anyway. Seeing it with a room full of people who know every line is a different thing entirely. It runs an hour and 37 minutes.
Showtimes. One show only, Wednesday, December 16 at 7pm, and this one runs with open captions right on the screen and audio description in the room. Times can change, so check the showtimes page before you go.
Good to know. Rated PG-13. The language and the humor are more grown-up than the holiday packaging suggests, so it is worth a thought before you bring the little ones. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for kids 11 and under. The theater suggests arriving 30 minutes early to grab concessions and good seats.
Every ticket does some good. The Prospector is a nonprofit theater built to employ adults with disabilities, who the theater calls Prospects. They greet you and seat you before every show. Closed caption devices and descriptive audio headsets are available at every first-run show.
Make a night of it. The Heads Up Café inside the theater pours coffee, beer and wine, and the ceiling is covered in pennies hand-placed heads up by the Prospects. Downtown Ridgefield's Main Street restaurants are a short walk away.
