Pee-Wee's Big Adventure: One Night Only at the Prospector Theater

A stolen bike. A cross-country tantrum. One of the strangest comedies ever made.

Pee-Wee Herman's beloved bicycle goes missing, so he sets off across the country to get it back. It was Tim Burton's first feature, Paul Reubens is in full flight, and 40 years on it is still funnier and weirder than most of what opens this month. Mark Holton, Diane Salinger and Judd Omen fill out the cast. It runs an hour and 30 minutes.

It's one night only. A single 8pm show on Wednesday, October 28, with closed captioning available. Times can change, so check the showtimes page before you go.

Good to know. Rated PG. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for kids 11 and under.

Every ticket does some good. The Prospector is a nonprofit theater built to employ adults with disabilities, who the theater calls Prospects. They greet you and seat you before every show. Closed caption devices and descriptive audio headsets are available at every first-run show.

Make a night of it. The Heads Up Café inside the theater pours coffee, beer and wine, and the ceiling is covered in pennies hand-placed heads up by the Prospects. Downtown Ridgefield's Main Street restaurants are a short walk away.
