Popa Chubby, born Ted Horowitz, has been hard rocking the blues in his fierce and soulful way for more than 30 years. Over a career dating back to 1994 he has been a genuine force on the guitar, and the tempestuous, soulful playing has never been more powerful than it is now.

The shaven head, the tattooed arms, the goatee — he cuts an imposing figure, and he has become one of the most popular characters the blues has going. This is a loud night in a small room.
