Processing the Waves of Grief: Senior Adult Support Group

Grief arrives in waves rather than in a straight line, and it does not keep to a schedule. This group starts from that.

Ridgefield Youth & Family Services runs a free, ten-week support group for adults over 60 who have lost a spouse, a family member or a friend. The group meets to remember people, share reflections, and look at how grief actually sits with you now. The venue is clear that there is no right way to grieve and no timeline for healing, and that whether your loss was last month or twenty years ago, you are welcome.

It is led by Katie Guillory, an experienced facilitator, and it is part of RYFS's widening work with adults over 60.

When it runs. Ten Tuesday mornings, 10:30am to noon, from 27 October through to 29 December: 27 October, then 3, 10, 17 and 24 November, then 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 December.
