VENUE:
472 Main St, Ridgefield, CT 06877, USA

One of the town's crown jewel open spaces, and the man who can tell you every corner of it.
The Ridgefield Conservation Commission presents an evening on McKeon Farm: where it came from, how it came to be protected, and the many interesting spots on it that can actually be toured. The talk is led by Peter Nichols, a long term resident and a Commissioner, and the detail is the kind you only get from someone who has walked the place for decades.
Nichols grew up in Ridgefield and graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1975. After his college degree he came back and taught biology and earth science at the high school for thirty five years. He is currently a member of the Land Conservancy of Ridgefield, the Ridgefield Parks and Recreation Commission, the Ives Trail and Greenway committee, the Community Emergency Response Team, and the Ridgefield Old Timers Association, among other groups.
Good to know. Registration is required and closes at 7:00pm, as the talk begins.
