Ridgefield High School Ski Team Fundraiser

Warren Miller's 77th ski film lands in Ridgefield, and the high school ski team is hosting.

The film is Days Off, and its premise is the opposite of a competition reel. Host Katie Burrell follows the world's best skiers on the days they are not working, with no agenda and no scoreboard, just whatever they do for the love of it. The journey runs from heli-drops in Alaska to high-alpine mountaineering in Chamonix, the legendary powder of Hokkaido in Japan, a ride down Banff's infamous skijoring course, the slopes of Deer Valley, and hard charging through Revelstoke, Whistler, and Pemberton. It is a celebration of skiing for skiing's sake, and for a lot of people it is how winter officially starts.

Who it helps. Every ticket sold supports the Ridgefield High School Ski Team and its student athletes, so a night at the movies doubles as the racers' season kickoff.

Good to know. Doors open at 6:00pm and the film starts at 6:30pm. The evening is a rental of the Playhouse booked by the ski team rather than a show programmed by the theater, and tickets run through the Playhouse box office.
