Scarecrow Competition

Downtown fills up with strangers every October, and most of them are made of straw.

The Ridgefield Chamber's annual scarecrow contest is open again, and it wants creative, clever, spooky and outright odd entries to decorate the town through the fall. Some people are competing seriously for bragging rights and some are just joining in, and from the sidewalk you cannot always tell which is which. The scarecrows go up around town from early October and stay through the first of November.

Want to enter? Registration is $25 per scarecrow, and frames are collected from the Chamber office at 383 Main Street.
