The machine is threaded, the table is clear, and nobody is going to ask you what you are making.

SewLab is a relaxed drop-in session in the Danbury Library’s MakerLab, run by Mark Gallagher, where the library’s sewing and embroidery machine is yours to experiment with. Come to mend something from home, to try a technique you have only read about, to play with fabric design, or to finally finish the project that has been folded in a bag since spring. Beginners get guidance; everyone else gets three uninterrupted hours and someone to ask.

Good to know. Free, ages 16 and up, and no registration — just walk in. Bring your own materials.

Make an afternoon of it. The library sits on Main Street in downtown Danbury, so lunch beforehand or a coffee after is a few steps away.
