A segmented bowl is really two crafts stacked on top of each other: precision joinery, then turning.

Over two days students design a pattern, cut and assemble an assortment of hardwoods into a segmented blank, and then take it to the lathe and turn the whole thing into a single striking bowl. Day one is layout and glue-up; day two is the part where it stops looking like a stack of wood.
