The Buena Vista Orchestra

The records sold in the millions. The band is still the band.

The Buena Vista Orchestra, also billed over the years as The Buena Vista Social Orchestra and Orquesta Buena Vista, is the foremost Cuban repertory ensemble working, with a lineup drawn from The Buena Vista Social Club, the AfroCuban All Stars and the bands of Celia Cruz, Omara Portuondo, Chucho Valdes and Willie Colon. Between them, the Buena Vista projects have toured the world, sold records and tickets in the millions and been the subject of documentaries and stage productions, which makes this the best known Cuban music project there has ever been.

The orchestra is presented by SSK Music Presents, who frame their role as carrying the tradition forward by giving a new generation of Cuban musicians and music industry professionals a real stake in it.
