The Genesis Show: Six of the Best, 1982 Peter Gabriel Reunion

2 October 1982. Peter Gabriel walked back on stage with Genesis, once, and never again.

Seven years after leaving the band, Gabriel joined Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford at England's Milton Keynes Bowl for a show called Six of the Best. It remains the only full length Genesis concert Peter Gabriel has performed with the band since his 1975 departure. Former guitarist Steve Hackett turned up unannounced as well.

Unlike the Three Sides Live tour the night before, this one reached deep into the Gabriel era and put the theatrical, progressive Genesis of the 1970s back on stage: The Carpet Crawlers, Back in N.Y.C., Supper's Ready and The Musical Box, several of which were never played live by Genesis again.

The Genesis Show recreates the whole one off event, which is the only way anyone is going to see it.

Good to know. This is a rental of the Playhouse. The previous night is a different show entirely.

Where to go. The Playhouse is at 80 East Ridge Road in Ridgefield, behind the town hall, and it is an easy run in from anywhere in lower Fairfield County.
