The Yale Whiffenpoofs
Concert

Founded in 1909, in a tavern, by a senior quartet.
Each year just fourteen Yale students are chosen as the next Whiffenpoofs, joining the world's oldest and best known collegiate a cappella group. The Whiffs began in 1909 as a senior quartet singing weekly at Mory's Temple Bar, Yale's historic tavern, and more than a century later they perform over 200 concerts across six continents a year.
The repertoire spans generations, mixing Yale favourites, jazz standards and familiar hits with the harmonies that made the group famous. They have sung at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the White House, and turned up on Gilmore Girls, Glee, Jeopardy! and Saturday Night Live.
It is a matinee. A 3pm Saturday start, so it works as an afternoon out.
Good to know. Reserved seating, so you pick your seats when you book.
Where to go. The Palace Danbury sits on Main Street in downtown Danbury, with restaurants either side of it and an easy run in from anywhere in lower Fairfield County.
