Thursday Book Group: Audition by Katie Kitamura

A lunch in a Manhattan restaurant, and two versions of what the people at the table are to each other.

November's Thursday Book Group takes on Katie Kitamura's Audition. She is an accomplished actress in rehearsals for a premiere. He is young, unsettling, young enough to be her son. The novel runs two competing accounts of who they are to one another and lets neither one settle, which turns the roles people play every day, partner, parent, creator, muse, into something a good deal less certain than it looked.

Good to know. It's free, no registration needed, and copies of the book are available at the library. Conference Room A, half past ten until half past twelve. The group meets the second Thursday of every month. Sponsored by the Friends of the Weston Public Library.
