Unscripted: An Improv Group

No script, no safety net, and everyone in the room is in the same position.

Improv is performance built without a script, where the actors work from loose scenarios and invent everything on the spot, and it is the technique behind shows from Whose Line Is It Anyway? to Curb Your Enthusiasm. Some of the most memorable acting moments on record came out of it. This monthly workshop at the Mark Twain Library opens with tips and tricks from an experienced actor, moves into basic acting drills, and finishes with scenario prompts for anyone willing to have a go. No previous experience is expected, and it turns out to be as useful for public speaking as for the stage. It meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
