Verity at the Prospector Theater

A ghostwriting job. A famous author's private notes. A lot of secrets.

Struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh, played by Dakota Johnson, is hired to finish the books of famous author Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway. Then she finds Verity's chilling autobiographical notes, and the line between fiction and reality starts to blur, along with the line between Lowen and Verity's husband Jeremy, played by Josh Hartnett. Michael Showalter directs. It runs an hour and 58 minutes.

Showtimes. Opens Thursday, October 1 at 4:15 and 7:15pm. Friday through Sunday at 1:15, 4:15 and 7:15pm. More dates are usually added each week. Times can change, so check the showtimes page before you go.

Heads up on the R rating. Anyone under 17 needs a parent or adult 21 or older to give permission in person at the Prospector box office.

Good to know. Rated R. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for kids 11 and under. The theater suggests arriving 30 minutes early to grab concessions and good seats.

Every ticket does some good. The Prospector is a nonprofit theater built to employ adults with disabilities, who the theater calls Prospects. They greet you and seat you before every show. Closed caption devices and descriptive audio headsets are available at every first-run show.

Make a night of it. The Heads Up Café inside the theater pours coffee, beer and wine, and the ceiling is covered in pennies hand-placed heads up by the Prospects. Downtown Ridgefield's Main Street restaurants are a short walk away.
