Looking through the lens of clothing and textiles, the exhibit explores how Americans have experienced conflict and celebration over the past 250 years.

The exhibit is on display Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-4pm in the Schmeichel Gallery and will run from May 15th-August 8th.

2026 Taste of New Canaan Stroll

Get ready for the Chamber’s 2026 Taste of New Canaan produced by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events. The net proceeds from the donations will go to the New Canaan Food Pantry. This Event is graciously sponsored by Walter Stewart’s Market. By donating to the Food Pantry you will receive a “Map” to the Taste Tour of your choice.

Participants can choose from three different walking tours – it’s a fantastic night out with family and or friends.

On Thursday August 20th the kick-off party begins at Stewart’s Spirits 215 Elm Street, from 5:00pm. Collect your wristband and map and head out on your selected tour(s). There is a 2.5-hour window for you to do your self-guided tour. All tours finish at 8:00pm sharp.

Taste Tour – A signature taste of some of New Canaan’s best eateries

Family Fiesta – A family friendly, shorter walking tour (sweet and savory)

*Pour Tour – restaurants and stores sampling wine or beers

*Guests 21 years of age or older purchasing the Pour Tour must provide valid identification. Rain or shine event.

The First Annual New Canaan Music Festival

he 1st Annual New Canaan Music Festival will be held at The New Canaan Nature Center on Saturday September 19th 2026. This event will bring the community together to enjoy great live music and family fun. The New Canaan Music Festival presented by Michael-Louis Smith Music in partnership with the New Canaan Nature Center and will feature 10 bands on two stages and include a kids music concert and other fun activities for families. The event will also have a festival village which will include food trucks, beverages, festival merchandise, and other vendors.

The New Canaan Nature Center is located at 144 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan, CT. Gates will open Saturday September 19th at 11am, music will begin at 12pm and performances will go until 10pm. This event is rain or shine and guests are encouraged to bring a portable chair. There will be no overnight camping permitted. Tickets are available at www.newcanaanmusicfestival.com, guests are encouraged to register for their tickets early as space is limited.
