A Place to Hang Your Hat: Hand-Forged Hooks

A hat rack is a modest thing to spend a day on, and then it hangs by your front door for the next thirty years.

This one-day introductory class teaches fundamental forging while you make something specific: several steel hooks, plus a fold-formed sheet metal mounting plate to carry them. Expect a full day at the anvil learning the simple processes that everything else in blacksmithing is built from.

Good to know. $190 for the day, at the Forge, 290 Whisconier Road. Prices and openings change, so check the registration page before you plan around it.
