Author Mary Beth Keane in Conversation About Whale Harbor

Eleven brothers, one of them missing, and a search that never quite ends.

Mary Beth Keane, the New York Times bestselling author of Ask Again, Yes, comes to the Brubeck Room in conversation with Susy Hayes Jones about her forthcoming family saga Whale Harbor.

Inspired by Keane's own family history, the novel opens in the 1960s and follows eleven brothers between Ireland, England, Montana and New York. A family tragedy splits the siblings apart, and Rian, the seventh brother, who wanted desperately to go with the older ones and was devastated to be left behind, disappears. The endless search for him is what keeps the rest of them tied to each other and to the childhood they shared in Ireland.
