Cats and Seniors: A Purr-Fect Match
Wellness

Retirement brings more quiet than most people were expecting, and a cat is a surprisingly practical answer to it.
This session makes the case plainly: cats lower stress and blood pressure, lift mood, and provide real companionship without the physical demands a dog makes on someone whose knees have opinions. It also runs the other way, because an older adult at home all day is a better deal for a cat than most households are.
The talk covers the health and wellness benefits of living with a cat, how to choose the right companion rather than the first one that looks at you, and what the shared life actually looks like day to day.
Good to know. Free, registration required. It runs about an hour, with time afterwards to socialize with the cats and ask questions.
