Cooking the Books: A Cookbook Club
Food & Drink

The only book club where you have to do the homework twice: read it, then cook it.
Cooking the Books is the C.H. Booth Library's cookbook club, built for people who love reading and food in roughly equal measure. The format is simple and demanding in the best way. Register, collect a copy of the featured cookbook from behind the second-floor service desk, pick a recipe and email your choice to smerrill@chboothlibrary.org so nobody doubles up, then turn up on the night with the finished dish for a potluck and a discussion. September's titles are the America's Test Kitchen cookbooks, and the table already has a breakfast strata, a slow-roasted pork shoulder, chicken marsala, triple-chocolate espresso brownies, olive oil cake and somebody making ricotta and focaccia from scratch.
The autumn dates. September 14, November 2, December 7 and January 4, each 6pm to 7pm.
Good to know. Free, and registration is required so the library knows what is coming.
Where to go. The Meeting Room at the library, 25 Main Street.
